These physical therapy treatments are just a part of the broader range of interventions used by physical therapists to address a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. The specific treatments and techniques used depend on the patient’s diagnosis, goals, and individual needs. 

TherEx

Therapeutic exercises are a cornerstone of physical therapy. These exercises are tailored to the individual patient and are designed to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and range of motion. They can target specific muscle groups or address overall physical fitness.

TherAct

Therapeutic activities are more functional and complex movement patterns that we encounter on a daily basis such as lunging or bending, by implementing more functional movements we are able to address strength and balance at the same time. These usually are performed once adequate strength and balance have been achieved, via therex and neuro re-ed, to incorporate whole body movements.

Neuro Re-Ed

Neuromuscular re-education focuses on retraining the neuromuscular system, which includes nerves and muscles.  It is used to restore or improve movement patterns, coordination, balance, and muscle control, often following injuries or neurological conditions.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach used by physical therapists to mobilize joints, soft tissues, and muscles.  Techniques include joint mobilization, myofascial release, and muscle stretching.  Manual therapy aims to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function.

Gait training involves helping individual improve their walking pattern. This is essential for those who suffered injuries, surgeries or have neurological conditions affecting their ability to walk. Physical therapists work on improving posture, balance, and stride to enhance overall mobility.
